A few final updates prior to the conference:

  • Resume Village is now full. Thank you for your interest and the amazing response from volunteers and participants. If you reserved a slot, you should be hearing from the clinic shortly.
  • If you plan to participate in the CTF hosted by SecInnovations, you should be registered in our Slack, in the CTF-2021 channel, and signed up for the CTF per instructions in it ASAP. We cannot guarantee you a place on the day of the conference.
  • Please be aware that US time switched over last weekend, so if you want to participate in the conference and are not in US Central Daylight Time, you’ll want to check your conversion carefully.

Reminder – CFP Closes Sunday!

Quick reminder that the PancakesCon CFP closes Sunday at 8:30PM Central Time. Thank you for over 70 wonderful submissions already. Blind review will begin next week by our CFP board.

Car Hacking Village, CTF, and Resume Village have been announced, with details to follow soon. Several have asked for volunteers in Slack. Please contact the organizers if you’re interested in helping.

Introducing our Keynote Speaker!

We’re super excited to announce our Keynote Speaker, Phillip Wylie!

Phillip Wylie is an offensive cybersecurity instructor and practitioner with over two decades of information technology and cybersecurity experience. During his 9 year offensive cybersecurity career, he was worked as a pentester, web app pentester, and red team operator. When Phillip is not hacking, he is educating others. Phillip is the founder of The Pwn School Project, an education-focused cybersecurity organization. He co-authored the book, “The Pentester Blueprint: Starting a Career as an Ethical Hacker” based on his popular talk presented at numerous industry events. He is an Innocent Lives Foundation Ambassador and a ‘Hacking is NOT a Crime’ Advocate. Phillip’s uncommon journey into the field of cybersecurity is preceded by his colorful past as a pro wrestler, where he once wrestled a bear.

PancakesCon 2 Information

PancakesCon is a pop-up hacking / cybersecurity conference that will be conducted all day on 3/21/21 (US Central Time). This conference is 100% virtual, not for profit and free to stream.

All PancakesCon talks must be 40-45 minutes long. They MUST consist of two parts: A brief talk about any cybersecurity topic targeted at junior professionals / students, and a brief talk about something which is not IT-related. The non-IT topics can cover anything from hobbies to fitness, cooking to music. Share something you’re passionate about aside from computer technology or cybersecurity!

Call for Papers is OPEN. CFP will close on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 8:30PM US Central Time.
